My Clinical Background
I have been qualified as a Doctor in Clinical Psychology since 1999 and I have worked with N.H.S patients, both clinically and in Research, in various N.H.S settings since 1992. My clinical experience includes having worked in acute, admissions wards; Community Mental Health Teams (C.M.H.T’s); and Psychiatric Rehab Units for people with enduring and complex mental health difficulties. I have had many years of experience treating patients with various psychological difficulties, doing both individual, face-to-face work and also running groups. In more recent years I held a more senior, management role, running a Psychological Therapies service in a small hospital and liaising with a number of different professionals and agencies. My private practice has been running alongside my N.H.S work for over 10 years.

Historically, whenever I have worked with N.H.S patients my therapeutic work has always been clearly evidence based, drawing on the N.I.C.E guidelines. The Services I have worked for have always been routinely inspected by the Care Quality Commission (C.Q.C), the government body that regulates all Services that treat NHS patients; and these Services have also, always been accountable to the local Clinical Commissioning Groups (C.C.G’s).
As an individual Health Professional I am regulated by the Health Care Professions Council (H.C.P.C) and the British Psychological Society (B.P.S). I receive regular supervision for my work by a Consultant Psychotherapist who works for South London and Maudsley (SL.A.M) NHS Trust. This is a professional code of conduct I maintain because I believe in demonstrating excellent, clinical standards as part of my practice.
